It is the second time for Xia Jia to perform his solo concert in the Forbidden City Concert Hall. This time he is going to bring the audience his new works and classic ones such as Shujiangchou, Xiaobaicai, Spanish, as well as the impromptu.
The audience who joined Xia Jia's solo in 2007 will experience his new development in music this year.
In January of 2008, after his great success in the 'Unknown Journey ¨C Piano Solo Concert' in Naijing and Beijing, he issued his personal piano solo album Over the Rainbow.
In 2008, as a specially invited guest, he played with Erik Truffaz, the international jazz master.
He also participated the first France E-Jazz festival.
In addition to performances, he actively organize and participates in many jazz and teaching activities. In 2003, he set up Beijing City Jazz Orchestra and became the command of the band. In October of 2003, he published a six-hour Jazz-teaching VCD called 'Jazz Piano Improvisation Course'. In 2005, he took part in the first Beijing Midi Jazz Festival and acted as an artistic director. Xia Jia has been a lecturer of jazz piano at Beijing Midi School of Music since 1997. After his return to China, he continued to serve as a key speaker in the Ensemble courses. In the early 2006, he started as a substitute teacher at Communication University of China, teaching Music in the 20th Century, Music Writing and other courses.
