Introduction of Bonnie Raitt
As a singer and a guitarist, Bonnie Raitt has been loved by the critics. Until the release of her 10th album Nick of Time, she really achieved her commercial success and gained the recognition of the mainstream music groups. That was nearly 20 years later after her first album combined with a mixture of blues, rock and R & B style was released.
Born in Burbank on Nov. 8, 1949, California, Bonnie Raitt was the daughter of the Broadway star John Raitt. Bonnie quickly fell in love with the R & B music when she started learning guitar at the age of 12. In 1967 she studied in Radcliffe College. But less than two years later, she dropped out of school and begun tour in Boston folk and blues music clubs. With the help of her blues manager Dick Waterman, she got the opportunity to perform together with idols and stars. Later on she signed with Warner Brothers.

The first album of the same name in 1971 made Raitt become the golden apple in the eye of critics. Singing with deep emotion and the songs carefully chosen, as well as her superb guitar playing skills, she won the applause and attention among a small number of female guitarists. The follow-up album in 1972 Give It Up was a combined record, including not only a collection of the music works of Jackson Browne, Eric Kaz, and other contemporary musicians, but also R & B old songs and three of her original songs. Her Takin 'My Time in 1973 was highly acclaimed. In the late 1970s, she released albums such as Streetlights, Home Plate, Sweet Forgiveness and The Glow. In her whole music career, Raitt has always been a loyal radical, who performed in hundreds of non-profit concerts.

From 1994 to 2006, Bonnie had issued a few albums such as Longing in Their Hearts, Fundamental, Silver Lining, Souls Alike and Bonnie Raitt and Friends. In Bonnie Raitt and Friends she invited Norah Jones and Ben Harper as a guest. |
