Formed in 1999, Tharichens Tentett is constituted by a group of young brilliant musicians who love jazz and modern music. This constitution, at the very beginning, has laid the foundation for this band¡¯s music style with great breakthrough and diversity.
So far, this band has already issued a number of CDs and DVDs and won great reputation in Europe and around the world.
Its music is regarded by the media, the music critics and the audience as Germany's most developed new generation of jazz music, jazz composition and jazz orchestration. It is the most representative band in Germany. The band, on behalf of Germany, has attended many major music festivals in Europe and around the world.
In their music, the tentet fuses numerous musical inspirations, such as swing, bebop and punk, chamber music and bossa nova.

Michael Schiefel (Vocals)
He is the most important contemporary musician and vocal in Germany and even in Europe. This versatile Michael not only displays the traditional jazz styles, but also challenges various types of vocal style. In addition, Michael creates a lot of works with diverse features, presenting the activeness and openness of new generation of German musicians.
Sven Klammer (Trumpet, fl¨¹gelhorn)
Having learned jazz from Bert Joris when he was young, he studied classic trumpet in Vorarlberg State Music Conservatory from 2001 to 2004. He started to play and became famous in Berlin in 2007. He enjoyed the cooperation with bands such as Flip Philipp & Ed Partyka Dectett, Phil Yaegers BrandX, Sinfonieorchsters Vorarlberg auf der B¨¹hne.
Jan von Klewitz (alto sax, soprano sax, clarinet)
Graduated from Academy of Music in Berlin, Germany, Jan von Klewitz has a deep interpretation of classical music. Later on, he learned by himself sax and dedicated to the performance and research on jazz and contemporary art music. He is now one of the best players in the new generation of jazz saxophonists in Germany.
Andreas Spannagel (tenor sax, flute)
Born in 1958 in a music family and influenced by his father, Andreas learned to play piano since he was very young. He first attended the band at the age of 16 and began his systematic study in sax performance. He then continued to try different styles of jazz performance, strengthening the basis of his own skills. He has cooperated with Karl Ratzer, Alegre Correa and Paul Urbanek for a long time.
NikolausLeistle (baritone sax, bass clarinet)
Born in 1975, his music life began with the classic piano music. He has displayed his artistic talent in sax later on. Having attended a lot of training, master classes and bands, he later received his diploma of jazz music and university degree on Music I. The four-numbered jazz band under his name has been invited to perform in different occasions. He is reputed as a distinctive jazz musician.
Soren Fischer (trombone)
Being interested in various types of music patterns, such as rock n' roll, jazz, folk music, he consistently maintains his new and distinct taste of art during his fifteen-year performance on stage.
He often performs with many famous musicians like Dumas, Daniel Belanger, Yannick Rieu and Danial Thouin.
Kai Br¨¹ckner (Guitars)
Kai often travels around Europe and the United States. At one moment he is with Fender on his back walking on the street of Broadway, at the other, he is recording songs for a Bulgarian singer in Sophia, the capital of Bulgaria. Recently, he also recorded a series of songs with his father. He loves walking on the street in small cities or standing on top of the mountain in the suburbia to enjoy the fresh air.
Johannes Gunkel (Bass)
He began to learn trumpet at ten. He then studied bass at 15 in Tyrol State Music College. In 2000, he learned from Adelhard Roidinger and gained his fame by his cooperation with Harry Sokal. Since then, he became popular and attended many jazz performances with bands. He was praised by masters such as Peter O Mara, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Herwig Gradischnig, Martin Reiter.
Kai Schonburg (Drums)
Born in Salzburg in 1982, he learned percussion at ten. Guided by Doug Hammond, Joris Dudli Jeff Bodreaux, he then formed an excellent group with Matthias Pichler, a famous Austrian jazz musician. In 2003, he connected extensively with a variety of American musicians. Back in Europe, he worked with Martin Reiter, Phil Nykrin, Julia Fischer, Harry Sokal and other musicians.
Nicolai Tharichen (Piano)
As another soul figure of the band, Nicolai is in charge of the composition of all works. He has a deep interpretation of classical music, classic composition theory and extensive music interests. His performance, composition and orchestration have brought the audience a sense of novelty. he has perfectly integrated the ancient European music and the most popular world music.
