Scheduled on May 23-28, 2008, China's well-known jazz musician of Golden Buddha Jazz Unit, Kong Hongwei, will not be able to participate in the performances in the Nine Gates International Jazz Week because of an accidental injury.

Kong Hongwei is the most outstanding jazz pianist among the first batch of jazz piano players in China. Many jazz fans also expect his brilliant performance in 2008 International Jazz Week.

According to the hospital sources, Mr. Kong Hongwei will need at least 4-6 months to complete rehabilitation and return to the stage. It is a pity to say that he and his Golden Buddha Jazz Unit, as well as their works with strong Chinese characteristics will miss the performances in this music festival.
