Aug. 1, 2008: Original Works

Beijing's outstanding Post-bop quintet Red Hand Jazz Band, including XIA Jia, Gabr Wen and GAO Taihang, is about to bring the audience their original works. While the rhythm starts from blowin 'to extended-form notation speed reading, the style will expand from folk songs to shake.

Aug. 8, 2008: Joe Henderson Works

With the modern style, the unlimited creativity of impromptu performances and the fixed band personnel, Red Hand represents the direction of Beijing's original music development. This time, the Red Jazz Hand has brought Joe Henderson's works.

¡¡Aug. 2/ 9/ 23, 2008: XIA Jia Trio ¨C Classic & Original

OT Lounge has the great honor of being the only venue in Beijing to invite XIA Jia (pianist, composer) to give his special performance. XIA Jia obtained his fame when he was a keyboard player in Cui Jian's band. He returned to China after he completed his study at Eastman School of Music and began to develop the local jazz band, for which he worked as the soul figure of Red Hand and the command of the Beijing City Jazz Band. In OT Lounge, XIA Jia Trio is going to perform the original works and classic adaptation.

Aug. 20, 2008: The Bassist E.J. Parker will be invited to perform.

Aug. 7, 2008: Trio Works (Ji Mi, GAO Taihang, Wang Chenhuai)

We can hear a lot of improvisation works of jazz masters such as Sonny Rollins and Ornette Coleman. The Blowin ', Solo and excellent impromptu performances will bring you an entirely different feeling for music.

GAO Taihang may be the most active leader of the band here in August. He and Charlie Wang (Double Bassist) may be permanent guests in OT Lounge because of their much cooperation. Let's just hope that they will bring in the combination of original and classic jazz.

Aug. 16/ 23, 2008: Accents Band (Electronic Acoustic Impromptu Reverberation)

Accents Band is an electro-acoustic duo of Philip Williams (saxophone, flute and keyboard) and Fei Jia (guitar). This combination has created a new performing method by using the electronic tools to perfect the impromptu musical effects.
