Liu Yue Trio was formed in the summer of 2006, with the core figure of the group called Liu Yue who is one of the most outstanding jazz guitarists in China. The other two band members - drummer Beibei and bass Huang Yong, are also very well-known jazz musicians. During the music creation, Liu Yue has been trying to combine the multiple elements of modern jazz styles with the elements of Chinese music. Thus, his music contains a strong orient uniqueness. His playing style has distinctive personal characteristics and uniqueness, being passionate yet not abrupt. His deep understanding of jazz is implicitly expressed through his superb and refined skill in performances.

Liu Yue (Guitarist)

A well-known jazz guitarist and bassist; graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music with the major of Double Bass; a member of Cui Jian's Band; the image spokesman for the world renowned bass brand Warwick; the strings spokesmen for D'Addario and a Jazz Guitar lecturer in Beijing Midi Music School.

Xia Jia (Keyboard)

As a schoolmate of Wen, Xia Jia (Keyboard player) later went to the United States to study Jazz and graduated from Eastman Conservatory. He is the conductor of the Beijing City Big Band. He is the front man of Dew Electric Trio and plays keyboard in Cui Jian¡¯s band.

Xiao Dou (Drums)

As a representative of China¡¯s new generation of Jazz musicians and bestowed with his sharp artistic insight and diligent training, Xiao Dou is beginning to make his mark in the music world. That¡¯s Beijing strongly recommended the audience to "keep the eye out for Xiao Dou, the Drummer, every Sunday at D-22 Club".
