Ranee Lee Group is named after Ranee Lee ¨C a famous black female Jazz singer from North America. Her playing style mainly dedicates to traditional mainstream Jazz classics. She has recorded a great number of albums and her group has been the top Jazz group in Northern America. Their re-interpretation of the traditional classical Jazz not only contains the beauty of the traditional classics, but also integrates various modern elements of Jazz music during its development for more than 100 years.

Ranee Lee (Vocals)
Ranee Lee began her professional stage career as a dancer. From there she moved on to playing drums and tenor saxophone with various touring groups in the United States and Canada. Ranee settled in Montreal, Quebec thirty-five years ago, and her singing took over from past musical endeavors. Since then, she has become one of Canada¡¯s most popular Jazz vocalists and recording artists. In the fall of 2007, Ranee recorded her eleventh album for Justin Time Records to be released in August 2008; STAY TUNED!
Richard Ring (Guitar)
Born in Montreal Quebec, Richard Ring has been a studio and Jazz musicianfor over fifty-one years in the recording and media world. He played for several years with Big bands, and numerous other Jazz bands and ensembles. He has toured all of Canada, much of Europe, and the United States participating in Jazz festivals, concerts, and Jazz clubs through out his entire career, both as leader, and sideman. On many Jazz recording you will find his enormous musical contributions.
John Sadowy (Piano)
John Sadowy is an accomplished and versatile performer and studio musician in the realm of Jazz and Latin music in Montreal. John is a member of the Montreal Jazz Big Band, with whom he has been featured in numerous festival appearances. In addition, John is first-call on the Latin and Brazilian music scene. John¡¯s rich and varied musical experience has led to performances the world over.
Morgan Moore (Bass)
Began playing bass professionally in the Montreal area at the age of 15. In 2005, Morgan Moore was in the house band for the Montreal Jazz Festival "Modavo Jam Sessions". Morgan Moore has the ability to switch effortlessly from jazz to pop to salsa.
David Laing (Drums)
Drummer David Laing was born in Kitchener Ontario and grew up in a musical family. He was introduced to jazz music by his father and older brother. Dave studied at McGill University in Montreal and began his professional career shortly thereafter. In the past fifteen years he has recorded, toured, and performed with numerous national and international stars. |
